Well to get the ball rolling I figured I would post some artwork from my past and then some similar artwork done more recently to show some progression and transition from all analog to all digital. Just after college I lost about 90% of the work I had done all through college and some late high school stuff due to an unfortunate accident, most of the stuff I managed to salvage was more graphic design work than concept art or illustration. Life took its turn and I stopped drawing and painting for a few years and focused on music among other things.. Finally about 2008 or so I decided I would refocus on art as a career and began trying to re-learn and re-teach myself.
This is going to be a huge first post. I'm going to do a sort of mini timeline of artwork and after this I will start making regular posts of new stuff!
Ok, this first batch were done in jr / high school, around 1995 ~ 97:
These were somewhere around 1997 ~ 99
Around this time is when I lost most of my college work, which consisted of storyboards, paintings, illustrations, 3D models, and a 2 min animation demo reel using Maya. After this period in my life creative focus moved away from visual arts into music until I decided to give art as a profession another shot.
This group is my first attempts at 2D digital art, done in Photoshop 2 I think, maybe 3, and all done by scanning sketches in and coloring using a mouse, about 2004:
From this point I got a wacom tablet for the first time, an intuos 3. These are some of my first attempts at getting used to the tablet itself as well as look at the screen instead of my hand while drawing. This is also when I started trying to dig further into all the tools available in photoshop. Looking back on this period of getting used to digital art still, and then the tablet as well, I didn't progress very much, or at least very slowly. From about 2005 ~ 06:
These are some random ones from around 2006 ~ 08:
Here are some from around 2008 to the end of 2009
Here are some from 2009 to the end of 2010:
Ok, from here on I will consider these current and a display of where I stand with skill, technique, and software knowledge. The rest stretch from 2010 up to about June of this year:

Well, that about gets this thing up to speed. I should be able to look at this blog down the road and really get a good feel for my overall progress. Thanks for checking out my first steps in blogging and I hope you will stop by again and check out my future works!
